We must not forgot the quality issues and think about how to evaluate the quality in online education. Does anyone have any good ideas how to do this?

QUality in online education is basiclly the same as in F2F education. There are allthough some major challanges that has to be accounted fore.
First the competence of the assessors.
Second the constantly changing virtual ewnvironments. Quality aspect of a standard LMS is not the same as for education in a MMORPG or 3D world.
Thirdly the provider has to be aware of the physical settings for localities not provided by themselves (eg. leaqrning centres, student homes). There has been quite extensive attempts to come up with benchmarks/criterias fro online education see: http://www.eadtu.nl/e-xcellenceqs/ and http://www.acode.edu.au/aboutus/acodebenchmkwksp/default.htm.
In Sweden there will soon be a survey on international research and benchmarking of online learning in higher education published available at http://www.hsv.se
Quality is in the eyes of the beholder
